QUICK INFO:

• Asymmetric encryption: key pair (Private, Public); the recipient sends his Public key to the sender

• To create a key pair: 

  • Application" > "Accessories" > "Kleopatra" > "File" > "New Open PGP Key pair" > give a name to the new key pair > write email address > tick "Protect the generate dkey with a passphrase" > "Advanced settings" > choose "RSA" and "4096 bits" > tick "signing", "encryption" and "certification" > "OkK" > set password > "OK" > creation is complete.

• To export your public key:

  • "Certificates" > select your key > right click > "Export..." > "Save

• To export your public key:

  • "Certificates" > select your key > right click > "Backup secret keys..." > choose directory > "Save"

• To check the key details:

  • "Certificates" > double click on your key.
