to access BIOS settings in a StarLabs computer:
if function lock is enabled: starting from the computer switched off, press "Fn" + "F2" immediately after pressing the power key > provide password(s);
if function lock is not enabled: starting from the computer switched off, press "F2" immediately after pressing the power key > provide password(s).
to see if function lock is enabled:
log in the default browser (e.g. Linux). Press the "F2" key. If the "Volume down" icon appears on screen, the function lock is enabled. Otherwise, it's disabled.
to enable/disable function lock:
press the "lock" key.
to make the StarLabs computer air-gapped:
format computer, reinstall Linux OS.
after entering the BIOS settings, "Advanced" tab > "I/O Port Access" > set "Wireless Lan" on "Disabled".
never connect the computer to the Internet via Ethernet cable.
to boot from USB stick (e.g. to launch Tails OS, see later):
once in BIOS settings, "Save & Exit" tab > "Boot Override" > select USB stick.
